“My Dirty Minded Man”

Track 12

“My Dirty Minded Man”

Written By Dave Grill and Kellie Poulsen-Grill.
Performed by Melissa DuVall.

The story behind this song is one of the best I think. Dave and I were driving to our new beach house in Lincoln City Oregon. We passed a cute little hole in the wall store called The Tackle Box. It had bait, ammo, cigs, beer, etc. Parked out in front of it was a huge, black, 4x4 truck with one of the biggest bull elk lying in the bed of the truck. They had been huntin’ and the truck was covered (and I mean covered) in mud. There was not a clean spot on it anywhere. Even the windhshield was brown. As we sped by the truck and little store I told Dave, ”Wow look at that! You know there is something sexy about a truck when it looks that way, like when you come home from hunting or fishing. You know, there is a song idea in there somewhere. We talked and talked about it and finally came up with “My Dirty Minded Man” because his mind is always on HUNTIN’ AND FISHIN’!!!! I love this song and its vocal!!! It is one of my favorites that we’ve ever written!! I think it is so twisted and clever!!!
