This was the first song that Nikki and I ever wrote together. She was only 15 and she had the idea. She had the entire chorus and its melody. I loved it the first time she sang it. I got up at 4 in the morning and wrote the bridge and verses. We put them together, and we love the result. It is such a keep on keepin’ on song. It speaks of courage, faith and hope. I love its meaning, and I love everything about it, especially Nikki’s vocal. She went in the Nashville studio and sang it when she was 17 years old.
